Thanks to the intense geological activity to which the region has been subjected, the estate has inherited an extraordinary diversity of terroirs, which contributes to the richness and complexity of its wines, as well as to the Languedoc charm of its landscape.
Today, vines, introduced to this region in ancient times, are once again taking over. The low yield per hectare (between 30 and 60 hl/ha), the ideal exposure of the hillsides, the diversity of grape varieties, the geological variety of the terroirs and the passion of the winegrowers enable the domaine to produce wines of excellence, both local and AOP, red, rosé and white, which cannot leave those who enjoy them indifferent.
Its terroir, made up of well-exposed hillsides, boasts a remarkably diverse geology (schist, sandstone, volcanic rock) and an ideal climate, where vines and olive trees have thrived for centuries.
This vineyard is made up of a wide variety of grape varieties whose aromas, influenced by the surrounding garrigue, give it its distinctive character: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault for the red varieties, and Grenache Blanc, Roussane, Viognier and Muscat for the white varieties.
The 2006 awarding of the “Pézenas” label, a specific appellation of protected origin, has raised the profile of these products with customers.
While the “LES TROIS PUECHS” estate in the commune of GABIAN has schist soils, it is in the villages of FOUZILHON and MAGALAS that red clay, limestone, sandstone and basalt make up all the other parcels, with slopes approaching 15%.
